Free Yourself from the Burden of a Painful Past!

The word “freedom” has a very special meaning for the survivors of child sexual abuse.  Freedom is your secret desire.  You dream about being totally and completely free from the crushing burden of your painful past.  It’s what you want more than anything.

If that sounds like you, I’ve got good news.  Freedom is within your grasp.  And it begins with mindfulness.

When you were a child, you lived in “survival mode.”  That’s the only way to survive abuse.  In your case, surviving meant disconnecting from yourself, your feelings, and what the abuser was doing to your young body.

That strategy worked for you when you were a child.  But it works against you as an adult.  When you grew up, this toxic strategy took your life hostage and began torturing you with all the emotional pain buried in your subconscious.

You could disconnect when you were young.  But enough is enough.  Now the pain wants out.  All of it.  And you can’t seem to stop it, no matter how hard you try.

Mindfulness will free you from that legacy of pain.  It teaches you how to focus your awareness in healthy ways.  It reconnects you to your body, soul, heart, and the beauty of the world around you.  It shows you how to live in the moment rather than in the pain of the past.

Mindfulness can be as simple as sitting still for a few minutes, closing your eyes to focus on your breath, and observing the thoughts that tumble through your mind.  This alone can be a life-changing experience.  The more you practice mindfulness, the more healing you’ll bring into your mind and body.

Mindfulness is a wonderful skill anyone can learn.  Because it reconnects you to everything important in life, it’s the opposite of survival mode.  Mindfulness is the practice of living life to the fullest.  Best of all, it frees you from the painful burden of your past.

Begin a mindfulness practice today.  Take that first step.  Stick with it and watch how it changes your life in incredible ways.  The benefits are truly amazing!

You will provide support for so many more people if just talking about abuse in general I believe because any children who suffered emotional physical or sexual abuse used those survival strategies and continue to use them today and emotional regulation suffers... I think any of us would benefit from this mindfulness expertise you can guide us through.... right now I'm benefiting a lot from somatic experiencing....much more effective than any cognitive behavioral therapy that I have had in the past but I still wonder and I think I asked before what do you suggest for those who are not sure if they ever experienced sexual abuse...if they know about the emotional verbal and physical but from 0 to 10 is a pretty blocked out memory .... is it something that should be explored in how if yes. Of course I certainly hope that wasn't the case but if there are certain PTSD symptoms that are quite challenging to work through I can't help but wonder .

The symptoms of verbal, emotional, spiritual abuse are the same as those of sexual abuse from what I read and my husband is a childhood abuse victim survivor ( not sexual) .him and his siblings display different responses but the brain reacts the same way

Glad you found and are liking the somatic experience. It is a great tool. You will see that I cover the range of impacts abuse has on children suffer any abuse. The impact is the same, no matter the abuse. We all cope with abuse the same way. You are right, it starts as survival - but then does get in the way of healing. It is my personal opinion, that no, you don't need to go digging for memories. You can't change the past, you can only heal from the NOW, to change the future. Keep doing what you are doing - keep healing from the impact, the PTSD symptoms get easier to deal with and less triggering over time. If you can add mindfulness or meditation to your healing practice it can make a big difference. Thank you for your comment and I hope I answered your question. Sending you love and light.
